Taming the navigation beast.

Company: Hyatt Regency Chicago | Industry: Hospitality

The Problem

The Hyatt Regency Chicago is a chic hotel with flexible space perfect for business functions, social gatherings, and romantic weddings. It is such a large venue that customers are constantly getting lost or looking for people to ask for directions. When Hyatt remodeled their lower level conference rooms for their high end corporate clients, they needed a better way to help patrons navigate.

The Solution

We suggested creating an overarching name for the entire wing, called The Lakeshore Meeting Rooms. Inside, we identified subgroups of conference rooms and named them after streets that touch the Chicago river. We then analyzed the traffic patterns throughout the space and determined the best placement for wayfinding.
